Why you should NEVER use Canva for branding.

Canva is an amazing design tool to create graphics + marketing collateral, but it just doesn’t it cut it when it comes to branding.

Here’s why 👇

  1. CANVA CREATES RASTER IMAGES

Unlike Adobe Illustrator that creates VECTOR images, designs made on Canva are RASTER.

So what the hell does that mean?

Canva images are made out of pixels, which means that they cannot be scaled or enlarged without becoming pixelated + blurry.

On the other hand, VECTOR images are made of paths that can be edited + resized without ever becoming pixelated or blurry. This guarantees you’ll always have the highest resolution possible.

2. YOU CAN’T CREATE CUSTOM LOGOS ON CANVA

The #1 rule of logo design is to always have a vector file.

This means NO CANVA LOGOS!

Not only does Illustrator allow you to make vectorized logos, but it will also allow you to create truly CUSTOM designs. And if you want your brand to be truly UNIQUE + STAND OUT from the crowd, you can’t be using the Canva templates everyone else is using.

3. RESTRICTED LICENSING

What a lot of people don’t realize is that Canva has limited licensing, so always make sure you fully read the license for the templates + elements you’re using on Canva so you don’t end up getting sued.

Best way to avoid that is to hire a professional (like me!) to create a custom logo for you on Illustrator.

And once you’ve had your brand designed by a professional, use Canva for creating social media posts, banners, brochures, slides, and other branded marketing items.
